GREEN INITIATIVES
Is going green a myth or just a smoke screen? We at Celeritas Chemicals don’t think so as we work with companies seeking green chemistry in order to manufacture end products that are eco friendly and sustainable. Not all companies can switch to green products as still many of the raw materials are not derived out of naturally derived raw materials. However, there is great lot of effort is underway to research and seek green alternatives. We are proud to be a part of that process.
We expect companies to promote innovation as government regulations come down to be enacted. This means sourcing professionals such as Celeritas Chemicals are challenged to find new alternate material sources, while applying design for environment (DfE) principles and understanding various global labeling systems to make more sustainable choices.
Some of our initial effort in the green chemistry arena is the GSA Contract. We will market only green cleaning chemicals to Federal Government agencies through our Contract. Further we are closely working with the scientific community to develop dust suppressant chemical that could be used for various private sector and public sector applications. Current dust suppressants are made of non-biodegradable chemical raw materials. One of our recent successes is working with oil drilling fluids formulator to use naturally derived alcohol instead of the one they currently use where the active ingredients are hyrdo carbon based which is detrimental to the environment on the long run.
We look forward to working with scientific communities across the world to develop products that adhere to green, sustainable promise to our earth. This may seem farfetched, but we look at it from a simplistic angle and that is one project at a time!
